Well, it's finally out and the launch is on!

If you're playing The "Old" Business Game as an owner, employee or temporarily unemployed at this moment, now is the time to discover and begin playing The New Business Game.

Hallmarks of the "Old" Business Game:

 * Get results, no matter what price you must pay
 * Vulnerability to people and forces beyond your control
 * Scarcity
 * Endless to-do lists
 * Fear
 * Stress
 * Pressure and struggle

Hallmarks of the "New" Business Game:

 * People and outside forces align to support you
 * Abundance
 * To do lists take care of themselves
 * Fun
 * Joy
 * Ease
 * Extraordinary results without focusing on them or paying a "price"
 * And so much more ...

My new book tells the entire story, opens a gateway into playing The New Business Game, and gives you everything you need to leap through it and begin your own personal and professional journey of expansion.

There's a special book launch page with special "offers" if you feel moved to get one or more copies during the launch window.

The "Monetization" Trap

4 Comments | Leave a Comment

smiles2.jpg
Prior to entering Phase 2, I was deeply involved in direct response marketing, on and off the Internet, for 18 years.

In fact, I actually grew up with Internet marketing -- playing that game way back at the beginning, before most people even had email accounts or knew about the Internet.

After my first year in Phase 2, I created losing interest in The Marketing Game, and let go of it. I unsubscribed from all my marketing newsletters, stopped expressing appreciation for seminars, courses, books, and other educational resources, stopped applying virtually all the strategies (including measurement and tracking of results), and allowed all my businesses to pretty much run on auto-pilot -- generally just sending out an occasional email to announce something new I was doing to my own email list.

I stayed in that "hands off" mode for nearly 5 years. Then I felt moved to dip my toe back into the Internet marketing waters to see what had changed during my absence, especially as it relates to using multimedia (text, audio and video) on the Internet.

When I re-entered The Marketing Game, so to speak, in that way, I noticed something fascinating I never quite "saw" so clearly before. Everywhere I looked, all the talk was about "monetization" of EVERYTHING -- how you could/should make money from using this or that technique, resource, etc.

That's to be expected in discussions about sales and marketing, right? Of course.

What was conspicuously absent from ALL the discussions, every single one, was any mention at all about having fun! Not even the slightest mention!

"You need to do 'X' to build your business ..."

"Use this technique and you can make twenty zillion dollars and dominate your niche ..."

"This technique or resource will get you #1 rankings in Google ..."

"Do this one little thing and you can double your sales and profits overnight ..."

"You absolutely must do z, y and z or you're leaving a fortune on the table ..."

"Time is money, so ...."

"Just do 'Y' and you'll get twice as much done in half the time..."

But NOTHING, not one word about fun, enjoyment, or what I call "lifestyle friendliness" from the doing of all of that, from the playing of The Business Game.

As a result, most of the folks following those pathways, whether they're making twenty zillion dollars or not, are NOT having much fun (even if they swear they are), and, in general, are stressed out maniacs like I used to be in Phase 1.

If you do see a rare exception of someone mentioning the topic of fun and enjoyment, in general and with few exceptions, it's just lip service -- and they're still stressed out maniacs too!

So, here are my two questions for you today:

"Where's the Joy?"

"When is it going to become a priority?"

In Phase 2, as a natural by-product of expansion and knocking out the cloud cover, fun and joy enter the picture, stay in the picture, become more and more of a priority, and your experience of both increases in ways you can't even imagine right now -- without you targeting or "intending" it as an outcome.

But until you get to that point, I invite you today to at least put it on your radar screen as something to track and monitor, and, if you will, an intention for a very powerful form of transformation in your experience of playing The Business Game.

Creating And Interacting As "Tribes" Versus "Marketing And Promotion" ...

I found the following video, another Seth Godin offering distributed through TED, to be very interesting from both a Phase 1 and Phase 2 perspective:

Phase 2 Players are definitely a "Tribe"!

Enjoy. It's about 17 minutes long.

The True Solution To The World's Economic Challenges ...

6 Comments | Leave a Comment

inward2.jpgAt this moment in time, the battle cry throughout the world is, "The old business and economic models are broken. The old paradigm is finished. We need new models, a new paradigm."

I agree with those sentiments!

However, I invite you to consider that the new paradigm won't come from politicians passing new laws; entrepreneurs creating more innovative products and services or executing more efficient sales, marketing, leadership, or finance strategies; a renewed commitment to honesty, fairness and integrity; the elimination of greed as a motivator; or anything else that involves trying to manage, manipulate or control forces that appear to be outside of you.

An external focus ultimately dooms you to Business Game failure in one way, shape or form.

Interestingly enough, and this may be tough for you to accept right now, the new paradigm will come from going "inward," from diving deeply into The Truth who you really are, what you're really doing here as you play what I call "The Human Game," and what the nature of your True mission and purpose really is.

Instead of focusing on external dynamics like sales, business marketing success, small business solutions, successful entrepreneurship, entrepreneur innovation and creativity, management, leadership, finance, team building, motivation, productivity, integrity, honesty, ethics, competitors, etc., the new models and paradigm will focus on "internal" topics like Power, Wisdom, Abundance, Consciousness, Truth, lies and illusions.

Wikipedia beautifully defines Consciousness as "the specific way in which humans are mentally aware in such a way that they distinguish clearly between themselves (the thing being aware) and all other things and events."

It is from expanding and shifting your Consciousness that creates True Business Success and True Abundance and gets you permanently off the Phase 1 "old" Business Game hamster wheel of work, work, work, push, push, push -- but ultimately get nowhere.

Expanding into being able to play The New Business Game in Phase 2 isn't for everyone. It requires an extraordinary degree of open mindedness and a willingness to explore uncharted territories with unfamiliar navigation tools. If you can make the leap, however, you'll experience transformation and rewards, including financial and personal lifestyle, beyond your wildest dreams.

In short, the real key to transforming your experience of playing The Business Game is shifting your focus inward and working to expand your own Consciousness. When you do that (which I can show you how to do), and your own Consciousness expands to a certain point, you begin playing The New The Business Game -- a New Game that will surprise, amaze and delight you on all levels.

That's what the Busting Loose/Phase 2 work supports you in doing.

It also continues the discussion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of This Human Game we're all playing.

The Hidden Truth About Most Sales And
Marketing Techniques And Approaches

5 Comments | Leave a Comment

me-me-me-small.jpgPrior to leaping into Phase 2 and beginning my journey of busting loose, I spent 18 years in direct response marketing on and off the Internet -- for large and small businesses.

During all those years, I did not see , at all or with complete clarity,  two significant patterns I see now, all around me, especially as it relates to small businesses and Internet Marketing. There are exceptions certainly, but these patterns are quite pervasive. I'm going to open this discussion here and then continue it in future entries. Here are the two things I see so clearly now:

"It's All About Me"

In most of the advertisements, emails, websites, etc. I see today, again, especially with small business marketing,  I see and feel what I call "me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme, more, more, more" energy. It's all about the business owner, Internet marketer, salesperson, marketing person, etc. -- what he/she wants, and  the insatiable appetite for getting more of what they want (money, ego boost, whatever it is).

In the official party line of marketing, advertising, and Internet marketing, is the concept that you should find a niche or group of people that have a want or problem and seek to help them solve the problem, fulfill the want, etc. through your products and services.

As a result, the illusion is created of "I'm here to help you," or "I want to help you," but it's just a thin disguise for the "me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme, more, more, more" dynamics. In Phase 1, within the storyline as I call it, people can feel that. They can sense it. And it has strong impact on your ultimate sales, marketing and business success, even if some people still buy from you.

Many marketers, promoters and advertising folks who absorbed the "serve the niche' party line would argue with me about this and deny what I'm saying here, but that doesn't change the fact that the "me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme, more, more, more" dynamics are there in a dominant way on the surface or behind the scenes.

Why is it there in such a dominant way? Because of the Phase 1 dynamics. When you feel small, powerless, not abundant (or your abundance is fragile and can disappear or shrink at any moment), at the mercy of forces beyond your control in a dangerous, "dog eat dog" world (which business often seems to be too), of course the focus and underlying motivation is going to be on you, wanting to "get" something from others, and on an insatiable hunger for more, more, more.

Now, the interesting thing is that when you enter Phase 2, knock out enough cloud cover, and expand to the point where you start to have direct experiences of The Truth about yourself, you do have a focus on "me, me, me" but then it's about you playing for the sheer pleasure of playing, doing what you do for pure the fun of it.

Once you knock out enough cloud cover and expand, the "gimme, gimme, gimme, more, more more" part drops out. And, as you might expect, when you get to that point, not only is your experience of playing The Business Game transformed and much more fun and joyful, but your interactions with "other people" called clients, customers and prospects changes in HUGE ways.

Here's the second thing I began to see clearly, and I know many die-hard marketers, especially direct response marketers on and off the Internet, will deny this with all they've got:

"They Don't Really Want What I'm Offering"

I absorbed the fundamental teaching about finding a market niche with a want or problem and solving/fulfilling it. I then spent 18+ years of being mesmerized by Phase 1 dynamics myself (all of this in the storyline, of course) and I never saw that underneath all of it, all the marketing techniques and strategies, all the copywriting techniques, all of what I call "the sizzle and drama" in copywriting, the structuring of offers, etc. is the belief "They don't really want what I'm offering and I've got to somehow push, force, seduce, or trick them into buying it."

Why do I say that? Because if you look closely, the use of the sizzle, drama,incentives and tricks (money back guarantees, special bonuses if you act fast, "today only pricing," bonus packages that far outweigh the value of the actual product/service in $ value, etc.)  would not be there if the belief was truly that the prospects really want what's being sold.

Even in Phase 1, I saw that if you have a product or service that truly solves a problem or meets a want, and you're talking to someone who has that problem or want, and you simply explain your solution, tell the truth about it, with passion and true sincerity, or simply tell what I'll call "a compelling story" about your unique ability to solve their problem, fulfill their want, they'll line up to buy. There's no need for all the drama, sizzle, tricks and incentives.

More to come on these fascinating topics. Feel free to share a comment or email me with specific questions.

The Sun And Clouds Metaphor As It Applies
To Business And Marketing Success

No Comments | Leave a Comment

Following is a video that shares what my Sun and Clouds metaphor. It is a way of looking what limits our success in business in life, why we experience ups and downs with sales, profits, employee morale, the stock market, the economy, on and on.

It also discusses what I call Phase 1 and Phase 2 of This Human Game we're all playing.

The video also lays a great foundation for future blog posts that can support you in busting loose from the "old" Business Game and beginning to play The New Business Game where you're no longer vulnerable to all the forces that appear to be outside of you and beyond your control -- and where you get to play for the sheer pleasure of playing, no limits, no restrictions of any kind.
