A Powerful Lesson From The Life Of Michael Jackson
Topics: fulfillment, goal achievement, goal setting, inner happiness, inner peace, joy, michael jackson, satisfaction, serenity
I've always loved the music of Michael Jackson. His career, and the way
his music touched the lives of millions around the world, has been very
inspiring to me too.I've been reading several biographies of his life and career since his death as he is a character who has always fascinated me. Yesterday, I discovered something that's very supportive for our purposes here.
As his solo career was beginning to soar, Michael set 2 principal goals for his carer. He wanted to be "the biggest star in show business, and the wealthiest." Those were two HUGE goals, tough to attain for anyone.
Notice that nowhere on his principal goal list was experiencing happiness, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, etc. It was all about what I call "outside event focus" versus what I call "inner feeling focus."
For a time, he achieved the first goal, being "the biggest star in show business." While he never reached the goal of being THE wealthiest star in show business, at his peak, he certainly became one of the wealthiest.
While I'm sure he had moments (especially while performing, recording or writing songs) when he felt joy, happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, for the vast majority of his life, even as a kid and especially in his final 10 years, he never got close to experiencing being happy, joyful, satisfied, fulfilled, peaceful, etc.
What can we learn from this as it relates to this blog? If happiness, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, and peace/serenity aren't Truly part of your focus (beyond lip service), aren't part of your goal setting "package" for your personal and business lives, aren't included in your targeting system, aren't even on your radar screen, it's not likely you'll experience them.
If you focus exclusively on outer events, at best you'll experience those events, though most people fail to achieve most of their stated goals for outer events. But even in the best case, it's unlikely that experiencing those events will bring you what you really want which is happiness, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, etc.
The only way to Truly win in business (and life), to Truly succeed in business (and life) as I see it, is to:
- Begin by combining an outer event focus and an inner feeling focus when you set goals
- Ultimately let go of the focus on outer event focus -- completely -- and focus exclusively on inner feelings.
- When you expand your Consciousness to the point where you naturally focus exclusively on inner feelings, the outer events take care of themselves as a natural by-product of that expansion in Consciousness. This seems "counter intuitive" from certain perspectives, but it's The Truth nevertheless.
I'll be talking much more about what we can learn from the life and career of Michael Jackson, other celebrities and traditionally successful people, outer event focus, inner feeling focus and more in my new Illusions and Truth Show which is about to launch. Stay tuned for an announcement about that

Wow, focusing on the outer element is what I have been doing my life. Just started to focus on the inner feelings of what I want to create and it works for me. focusing on the inner is where the peace and true joy resides.
I appreciate my devine self for creating this exchange with the aspect of myself I call robert. I also appreciate myself for going on the twitter site to read this.
All the best and be well.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for sharing this great post..
MJ truly played a Game impossible to win!!
Greetings,
Claus :-D
Thanks for the reminder on 'inner' and 'outer' Robert. MJ played an interesting game for us to observe, especially from P2 perspective-amazing creation!
And I agree Chaz-appreciating ES for this post via Robert and the link via Claus on Twitter!
I'm off to play some more - love, joy, happiness to all aspects of Me :-)
The MJ story is so rich with Phase 2 observations.
I love his music and appreciate his genius. His music is the "soundtrack" for some memorable times in my life.
The story is so rich and layered with how the money game is played. The videos of him on a shopping trip where he expressed appreciation for so many things that did not have meaning for him....just the POWER in the moment at being able to "buy" them. The fact that at the time of his death he was deeply in debt, yet look at the Bel Air mansion he was living in. He was able to "buy" a doctor that would supply him with whatever drugs he wanted. On and on the story goes, which reinforces the POWER in the money....in the illsuion. It reinforces the story that if you have money you can do anything. All a beautiful tale of power outside....it keeps getting reinforced in my hologram in many stories and illusions.

Bob, I certainly confirm the point you make in this article. Earlier in my own life I used to focus on what my life should look like. That mainly resulted in feeling stressed and frustrated. Then I shifted to focusing on how I wanted to feel in my life. That has resulted in much more personal happiness. I now enjoy a large measure of freedom and sweetness in my life.
Awesome, Roland!

Hi Robert,
I just saw watched the biography channel -- it was on Warren Buffet. He's definitely a phase 2 player as his sole intention is to have fun. He thoroughly enjoys running Berkshire Hathaway and he lives a rather simple lifetsyle. What do you think?
Thanks for all of your support.
Audrey
Someone is a Phase 2 Player, as I see it, if they are actively working with their Expanded Selves to knock out the cloud cover and expand back into their natural state of Infinite power, wisdom, abundance and True Joy.
In this sense, while I don't know Buffet personally, my guess is, no, he is not a Phase 2 Player. His Phase 1 story displays many details that appear to align with what happens when you knock out cloud cover, but my guess is he still believes the illusion is real, there's lots of power outside him (especially in the financial markets), etc.
It doesn't really matter anyway. he's just another aspect fo you anyway. The task at hand is YOUR expansion ...

Hi Robert,
...just one more question about Buffet. Would you say that he's still a phase 1 player because he puts his investors first (i.e.) external circumstances rather than just playing the market to have fun. I suppose that if it's just for the fun of then he wouldn't care what the market was doing and he wouldn't need to follow it so closely. What I'm trying to say is that all of his decisions are based on the financial statements of the companies he's invested in. Is that correct? Thanks for your clarification. I know that none of it matters I just want to make sure I knew the diiference between a phase 1&2 player. Who in your opinion would be a phase 2 player int he business world?
Thanks,
Audrey
I am assuming he is still a Phase 1 Player for the reasons I explained above. P1 or P2 is not about what's happening in the story line, the details of what's happening day to day, it's about what's happening behind the scenes, the driving force behind one's experiences, relative to whether the experiences one is having are about:
1. Keeping Phase 1 dynamics in place -- limitation and restriction, power outside, the illusions is real, you're the opposite of who you really are within it, etc.
2. Expansion into more abd nore of a diurect experience of who you REALLY are.
